IDS i-QUBE - reliable accurate monitoring of cow behaviours.

IDS i-QUBE, part of the IDS Wearable collection is a sensor worn on the rear leg that reliably and accurately monitors each cow's movement.

Automatically collecting detailed information on patterns of behaviour, algorithms analyse the data and provide accurate alerts and information.

The benefits at a glance

  • Standing Time - when the sensor is vertical

  • Step Count - The number of times the cow lifts her leg, based on the amount of force used

  • Lying Bouts - the period between the sensor changing from vertical to horizontal and then back to vertical

  • Lying Time - when the sensor is horizontal

  • Motion Index - a broader measure of the animals activity which considers the absolute value of the 3-D acceleration and is related to the total amount of energy used over a given period

  • IDS i-QUBE - attached to the rear leg, sensors use a 3-axis accelerometer to capture highly detailed information on the animal’s movements and behaviour

How sensors work

Movement sensors, IDS i-QUBE, record each cow's movement multiple times per second, continuously recording data to provide accurate insights via the IDS Nurture platform.

The system turns sensor data into real-time, relevant alerts and information to help you manage your herd.

Insights include;

  • alerting to the cows oestrus

  • notifying the optimum insemination window

  • lying time

  • early lameness detection

  • overall mobility scores
